Preparing for the audio slideshow

Today’s lab was like an episode of “What Not to Wear,” but with audio slideshows. Professor Rice played 4 or 5 examples of audio slideshows, both professional and from last semester’s class. From each, he pointed out what was good and what was really, really bad. There were problems with transitions, “phantom sound” (not sure exactly what it is because there’s no corresponding picture) and too much motion (zooming pictures in or out, mostly).

Tomorrow, we start playing around with SoundSlides. I’m a little nervous about forming a coherent story, but I hope that will go away once I have concrete interviews. I’m returning to the theater tonight for “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”‘s first tech rehearsal, so even though I may not be able to conduct interviews, I should get some great shots!
